Interior and exterior details make extensive use of the abundant wood. Raw, knotty pine and clear-finish boards are common throughout, adding a warm texture to cabinets, doors, roofs, and furniture.
Many homes also boast large fireplaces in stone or brick, often with exposed interior chimneys extending upwards into great rooms topped with exposed-beam cathedral ceilings.
