It connects Park Rapids to Cass Lake and passes through Dorset, Nevis, Akeley, and Walker.

Itasca State ParkJust a short drive from Park Rapids, Itasca State Park is a major attraction, home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River. Visitors can enjoy more than 32,000 acres featuring over 100 lakes, and more than 30 miles of hiking and biking trails, and in winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Heartland Park - Located next to the Fish Hook River. The Park offers picnic shelters, playground equipment, a horseshoe court, a tennis/pickleball court, basketball courts, softball/baseball field, a public lake access, fishing pier, public swimming beach and restrooms. It also is at the start of the Heartland Trail. 

Deane Park - Located on the Fish Hook River, Deane Park offers picnic areas, a playground, fishing spots, and boating access to Fish Hook Lake.

Red Bridge Park - Situated on the Fish Hook River, this park is known for its scenic red bridge. It's a great spot for picnicking, fishing, and accessing the Heartland Trail.

Depot Park - Located in downtown Park Rapids, this park is a community gathering spot and hosts many events throughout the year. It's adjacent to the Heartland Trail, making it a convenient stop for trail users.

Paul Bunyan State Forest - North of Park Rapids, this state forest offers hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and ATV trails amidst Minnesota's beautiful wilderness.
